September was a particularly busy month which saw our MGB Roadster and Triumph TR6 pass to delighted new owners.  The Porsche 911 SC Targa we previewed in September is now in preparation for sale; more details to follow.

Cars for sale include a stunning 1972 Jaguar E Type Roadster; which is a superb driving example.  Ordered from new with the factory manual ‘box, this is a rare and desirable car.   We’ve looked after this cosmetically superb E for 20 years and it’s as good an example as you’ll find for £72,995.

Coming soon is a lovely Triumph GT6 Mk111 finished in Emerald Green which has recently benefited from new paint and trim.  We’re delighted to preview a superb 2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage finished in desirable ‘double black’; more details to follow…

Lola Mk 6 GT project

The Lola Mk 6 GT is one of the most technically important GT racing cars ever constructed.  It provided the Ford Motor Company with the template to create the GT40 and indeed the Lola T70 that followed.

In 2000 we were privileged to rebuild the 2nd example, the 1st production car which carried chassis number LGT-1.  On completion, the car went on to race successfully before being sold overseas. Back in 1963, LGT-1 featured at Le Mans, running as high as 9th, before crashing out due to gearbox issues.

At the time of the restoration, we created a brand new set of body moulds, as the originals weren’t initially available.  After some time, they did surface so we were able to create a composite body mould incorporating elements of both sets.

What we have here for sale are those recreated moulds, comprising front & rear clip, central section, incorporating ‘screens & doors.  These provide a prospective buyer with an opportunity to create a tool-room Replica or continuation Mk6 GT, utilising correct components. If you have the appetite to create a suitable chassis and drivetrain to sit underneath it, this represents a fantastic opportunity.

We’d considered doing that very thing, but a busy workshop prevents us from progressing this tantalising project.  We also have a number of original parts from the restoration we’d be happy to include in the sale.

This Lola is now a footnote in racing history, but we strongly believe it has sat in the shadows for too long.
