November passed by in a flash and saw a great variety of cars pass through the workshop. These included an Aston Martin DB6 Mk1, a Triumph SLR for some post race bodywork, along with an historic E type for similar fettling. Last month we predicted Lee’s Range Rover would become a regular fixture in the workshop, and it has. To add to the mix, we’re rebuilding a Fiat 500 engine for one of our favourite clients, which expired en route from its MOT along with a Touring bodied Alfa 2000 engine too.
Great progress this month on our long term restoration projects. The magnificent Jaguar 420G finally returned to her delighted owner, whilst the engine is now back in the Ferrari 308 GTB, courtesy of Richard. The Riley Kestrel is undergoing final fettling by Rob and Kerry’s body restoration of the ex Sir Douglas Bader Alvis TD21 Drophead is now complete, so we can now move onto paint. To round things off, Richard H as started the ground up restoration of a ’72 2.4 Targa, which should keep us busy for the next few months…
It’s all change with regards to our cars for sale. The GT6 has gone to a new owner in Northern of Scotland – we hope you’ll be delighted with it, Andrew. The fabulous 1927 Humber 14/40 Six Light Saloon is now ready for sale. New into stock is an exceptional 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage, in Onyx Black with Obsidian hide. It’s spectacular and feels far more special than its £33,495 price tag might suggest. We’re preparing a lovely Maserati 3200 GTA for sale; stunning in Metallic Grey and sizzling value at £15k – how long will these cars remain underpriced? The delightful 911 SC Targa we mentioned last month is undergoing minor paint rectification and we hope to have more news early in the new year – it’s a peach of a car. We also have two exceptionally low mileage 90’s Ferrari’s which may be coming to market early next year too and each one is a benchmark example…
We loved ‘Le Mans ’66’, even if the featured cars were reps and the script played fast and loose with the facts. Outside Hollywood, we have the basis of ‘the real thing’, sitting right here in our workshop, so there’s much head scratching currently going on about what to do next……
On the car sourcing front, we made great progress in November, locating no less than 8 examples of the definitive 60’s Anglo-American sports car for a client, who now has a big decision to make. We’ve also been burning the midnight oil to find an uber-rare mid 90’s supercar for a European collector and have unearthed 4 examples of the 100 built, all ‘off market’. We’re very connected when it comes to finding exceptional examples of rare and desirable cars; and our fee structure is very reasonable vs. others out there.
We’ve also welcomed more cars into storage this month, from everyday BMW’s to 911’s, Alpine A110’s and S2000’s, through classic era Mercedes, Ferrari’s and Rolls Royce’s to significant historic racing cars, which illustrates the breadth of cars we care for. We offer a range of exceptional value packages, all fully insured. Such is the demand for our storage, we have taken on an additional unit, which is filling up nicely.
