With February something of a washout, we’ve kept the workshop doors firmly closed and cracked on with our long term projects, including the two Alfa engine rebuilds, the restoration of the 911 Targa, the former Sir Douglas Bader Alvis TD21 Drophead and not forgetting the Ferrari 308 GTB, which made more progress towards completion. Over the line went the Riley 9 Kestrel, now reunited with its long-term owner following a full RH Classics rebuild, as did the benchmark ’62 Austin Healey 3000, surely now one of the best ‘big’ Healey’s on the planet.
We welcomed a number of new cars into the workshop this month, including a Jaguar Mk 2 in for a gearbox rebuild, plus a lovely works style Healey 3000 for tuning and general fettling. We’re always happy to see old friends and February saw the return of the 1936 Wolseley Hornet Eustace Watkins Special that we know very well. The super original 1982 BMW 635 Coupe Lee sourced in January finally arrived and is now with its delighted new owner.
We currently have 5 cars for sale include the timewarp 1927 Humber 14/40 Six Light Saloon, for sale at £19,995; dripping in originality and comes with 75 years of history. The 2008 Aston Martin V8 Vantage has been detailed by Mark, our resident paint expert and looks a million dollars, which is rather less than its £32,490 asking price.
The Maserati 3200 GTA has been reunited with its restored wheels and makes the filthiest noise that £15,995 can buy, whilst our lovely E Type V12 Roadster enjoyed an underbonnet refresh and is ready for spring. At £72,995, it’s the best value V12 E Type on the market.
And finally, the spectacular 427 Cobra is undergoing detailing – it’s absolutely unique and represents a once in a lifetime opportunity if you’re looking for a period authentic Cobra and is priced accordingly at £139,995
Coming soon is possibly the best example of an early Aston Martin Vanquish, with super low miles, plus a pair of 911’s in the shape of a great value 996 Carrera 4 Drophead, plus a benchmark Porsche 993 Targa – details to follow shortly.
On the car sourcing front, Lee went out to Holland to view and acquire an E34 M5 Touring for a loyal client. It’s here on British soil and is undergoing comprehensive pre-sale preparation. We’re currently searching for a Porsche 964 Turbo, an E90 M3, an alloy dash 3.8 Litre E Type Coupe, plus a home market Series 2 Roadster. Richard found a super original BMW 2002 for another client and after searching nationwide, we typically find one just down the road.
Locating the right car in the right condition at the right price is what we’re here to do, so if you’re looking to source a special older car, then you should talk to us…
We welcomed more cars into storage this month; if you love your car and want it stored safely and securely, you should talk to us – as we offer a range of storage packages, all fully insured. Over the winter we looked after Octane Magazine Associate Editor Glen Waddington’s Baur BMW Drophead; check out Glen’s running report in the magazine to see what he thinks of us.
Next month we’ll unveil our new website that will showcase the range of services we provide owners of classic and performance cars. Spring is coming, so don’t forget that we’re here to help you get the most from your older car, from storage, restoration, sales and sourcing, or just a service; for us, it’s all in a days’ work and quite frankly, we love every minute.
