RH Classics is delighted to present this Austin Healey 100/6 on behalf of one of our valued clients.

Registered on 12th June 1957 and first delivered to Car Mart of London, chassis BN4 S 3741 is an original home market 100/6 finished in Colorado red, with contrasting black leather trim, piped in red; a specification it retains to the present day.   The car also comes complete with a desirable works style hardtop finished in gloss Black.

A car we’ve cared for the last year, this is our type of Healey; good looking, great driving and in the sort of condition and specification that you can really enjoy, rather than a too-pampered boiled sweet that spend its whole life locked away in a dehumidified bubble.

Carefully developed over the years by a series of long-term owners, many well respected in Healey circles to evoke the spirit of a ‘Works’ car.  Purposeful, with some lovely touches – alloy bonnet, Competitions Department style hard top, a recent set of wires matched with a set of period correct Michelin XAS tyres.

Driving beautifully, thanks to significant works carried out by Rawles Motorsport for the previous owner at some expense, including full chassis strengthening, plus a complete overhaul of the suspension and braking system.

The car features an upgraded, overbored 3 litre engine, later cylinder head (suitable for unleaded fuel), upgraded twin SU carbs, lightened and balanced flywheel, revised cam profile, Hepolite pistons, FIA compliant fuel tank and works style overdrive switch.

With a delightfully period correct aesthetic – contrasting hardtop, bonnet pins, side exhaust and rare Lucas spot/fog lamps. Inside, you’ll find a removable roll cage that allows for the rear seats to be used and benefits from map light, auxiliary power source and Retrotrip meter, all in working order and ready for those club events.

Accompanying the car is a great history file (more than 3 inches thick) dating back 40 years, detailing significant works carried out by proper Healey specialists such as Rawles Motorsport over the last 2 decades and has been serviced annually with continuous investment to keep the car on the button. Also detailed in the file are each of the previous owners, along with much correspondence confirming the cars’ history over the years.

Recent work carried out by us includes a full mechanical inspection, fitment of a replica ‘Works’ style grill and additionally, work undertaken by the owner includes rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump, dampers, original seats repaired, boot retrimmed, bespoke spare wheel cover sourced and new side screens and matching boot bag for safe storage.

Supplied with a fresh MOT, BMIHT Certificate of authenticity, original buff logbook and that superb history file. Currently registered on the desirable BMC Competitions Department style number plate BMO462; a nod to PMO203; the car that inspired it.  Please note this is available by separate negotiation, or we can easily reassign its previous plate – WSJ175 if you prefer.

In summary, this thoughtfully improved Healey is just perfect for fast road use, light competition, or even a burble down to the village pub.   In lovely condition, on the button mechanically and great fun to drive, this Healey is highly recommended and is available to view at our rural workshops located just outside Melton Mowbray.

Part exchange a possibility, subject to what you have…
