RH Classics is delighted to present this 930 C16 UK market Turbo Targa on behalf of its owner.
Built on 13 June 1988 and then supplied to Official Porsche Centre, AFN Guildford, with first registration taking place on 01 August 1988, this is a late model G50 4 speed Turbo.
Finished in Guards Red with contrasting Black leather trim, also piped in Black, this matching numbers example is 1 of just 58 UK specification Turbo Targa’s built, making it one of the rarest and most desirable air cooled 911 variants.
Our car has averaged 3000 miles per year and remains a spectacular drivers car on any level and is supported by a superb maintenance history detailing a forensic approach to its upkeep; regularly driven and always maintained regardless of cost; either via Porsche themselves or noted independent specialists.
Detailed on the accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, options specified by the first owner included Recoil Bumpers, Heated Seats, Top Tint Windscreen and a luggage compartment trimmed in Black Velour Carpet – a specification it maintains today.
A former concours winner, this Turbo presents beautifully, thanks to a combination of light use and careful maintenance over the years.
The interior is exceptionally well preserved, with excellent hides, crack free dash, straight door pockets and the Targa roof mechanism is perfect, with all seals watertight. We particularly love the seldom seen all-black trim, with no garish red piping or linen leather in evidence; here – it’s all black and as a result, the cabin feels purposeful.
Many 911 Turbo’s have not been consistently cared for over the years, leading to potentially expensive issues surfacing for the next unsuspecting owner. Always meticulously maintained and never allowed to deteriorate, our 911 drives exactly as Porsche intended.
In the driving seat, it feels utterly tight and absolutely ‘factory’. Be under no illusion, it’s not a car for the faint hearted and could easily live up to its period reputation as ‘the widow maker’, but driven intelligently, it offers a truly scintillating driving experience that underlines what a benchmark performance car this really is, from the golden era in Porsche history.
With comprehensive documentation, comprising original service, instruction manuals, delivery pack and service book, AFN stamped continuation book, MOT certificates since 1995, and the Porsche COA detailing the factory build specification.
The original Turbo is rightly regarded as one of the all-time greats in 911 terms and for good reason – it embodies all the best elements of the classic air-cooled 911, but with that fabulous turbo bolted on top for an extra frisson of adrenaline.
In summary, this is a genuinely exceptional example of a benchmark car in Porsche terms . It’s been properly maintained throughout its life, presented in immaculate condition and mechanically on the button.
In stock and now in final preparation for sale, our Turbo will be available for viewing at our rural workshops, located just outside Melton Mowbray in Twyford, Leicestershire.
