RH Classics is delighted to present this Maserati 3200 GTA on behalf of its owner.
Finished in Grigio Alfieri Metallizzato with Crema hide, this Type 338 Maserati has matured gracefully and is one of those rare cars that just gets better each time you cast your eyes over it, especially those fantastic Hockey Stick rear lights.
It presents nicely, with even panel gaps, gleaming paint and no corrosion in evidence. The interior is nicely settled, like a pair of Gucci loafers – the cockpit wraps around the driver and the console-mounted Maserati clock a discrete nod to the classic Maserati GT’s of the early 1960’s.
First registered in October 2000, this is one of just 2016 cars built between 1999-2002 and has covered a documented 50,900 miles from new. The 3200 revitalised the fortunes of Maserati and with the passing of time it’s become a Young Timer classic in its own right; with the perfect balance of usability and sense of occasion that Italian GT’s conjure so beautifully.
This is a car to delight any enthusiast; the guttural symphony emitting from those upgraded quad tailpipes makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Make no mistake, although 20 years old, it remains properly fast and drives exactly as you’d hope. As a genuine Gran Tourismo it is equally at home on long languid drives or just perfect for a B road blast.
We care for a number of modern-era Maserati’s, so this is a car we know well, having cared for it since 2016. Many examples have been inexpertly maintained, with expensive problems awaiting the next unsuspecting owner. That’s not the case here, evidenced by comprehensive service history dating back to when the car was entrusted to Maranello in Egham, through to more recent work carried out by marque specialists Shiltech and indeed ourselves. Over the last 20 years, in excess of £31,ooo has been invested in keeping this 3200 in fine mechanical fettle; all documented within the accompanying history file.
Additionally, the car has just had new cam belts courtesy of Migliori Cars and a new battery fitted. Everything functions just as should; including the aircon, which still blows ice cold.
Well maintained 3200’s offer blistering value for money right now, especially when finished in a timeless colour, along with low mileage supported by specialist service history, such as this one.
Highly recommended – with 12 months MOT, newly restored wheels, fresh tyres and a body detail by Mark, our in-house specialist. An immaculately presented, Italian Gran Tourismo that’s ready and waiting for some Summer fun.
Use it, maintain it properly and watch it appreciate in value – what are you waiting for?
